Play in the Snow with your kids!

Do you have a minute to take a break from reading and want to play in some snow! It's possible!

The Snow Play area is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays through Sundays. Sleds are provided, accessories such as snow boots, gloves and waterproof pants are available in the Sport Shop. Snow Play prices start at $15 for Full Day passes.

Southern California’s largest and oldest snow tubing park offers snowy slopes for downhill rides on individual snow tubes that are specially designed with a belly strap and handles. Beginner, intermediate, and advanced slopes are available – all at 6500 feet above sea level. Tubing Park price is $15 per person per hour, children under 36 inches are free with paid adult.

The Big Bear snow play area consists of six full-length inner tubing runs are the longest runs in Southern California. The runs are serviced by a Magic Carpet uphill lift that eliminates the tiring uphill struggle through snow. Lift-assisted inner tubing lets parents and children conserve their energy for more tubing fun. Prices are $30 per person.

The Snow Play hill at Alpine Slide is home to the signature bobsled-type experience of the same name is famous for its “Snake” run patterned after a slope style track that takes sliders through a series of high-banked turns. Getting to the top of the hill is easy, since they have the Magic Carpet uphill lift that is covered in plexiglass and lighted during the evening sessions. Snow Play prices are $30 per person, under 6 years old free with paid adult.

For the best snow tubing in California go up to the North Pole Tubing Park, the largest facility for snow tubing in Southern California with up to ten lanes when fully open, two moving carpets and custom tubes. Snow tubing prices start at $20 for a 2 hour pass. Children must be at least 36 inches tall to ride. Kids between 36 and 42 inches must ride with an adult. Opening day is expected to be 12/9/2016, but check the website for details.

Mt. Pinos has some of the best cross-country skiing in Southern California with more than 14 miles of trails. Tobogganing, sledding, inner tubing and other snow play are also available on Mt. Pinos and in other designated areas within the Los Padres National Forest.
