Featured Parenting Student of the Week: Jacob Guttenberg

This month's Featured Parenting Student is Graduating Senior Jacob Guttenberg. In the Fall he will be attending UC Davis Law School. What made this non-traditional student and father to Kaia (age 7) and Jackson (age 9) want to return to college? "After a career in wine and spirits, layoffs and general discontentment with the industry made me want to change paths," he explains. With the support of his family, Jacob decided to pursue his passion- Physics & Law. "After 3 different community colleges in Northern California, I chose to come to UCLA."
So how did he balance it all? Jacob admits dividing time between "physics and children" is tough. "I wish there were 4 more hours in the day," he laments. But, Jacob has made the most of his time here at UCLA co-chairing the Pre-Law Transfer Society (the first organization run by and for transfers interested in going to law school after UCLA - join them on Facebook!) and studying, studying.....studying. His favorite place to hang-out on campus is the third floor of the Physics & Astronomy Building.
Advice for Incoming Transfers? Get involved right away! "The time goes by quickly, doubly so when you have children."
--Congrats on your admittance to UCD Law Jacob! Thank you for sharing your story with us!
