Meet Kristen: October's featured SwD!

Kristen Martinez
"I am a transfer student from Mount San Antonio College in Walnut. My major is history (with a focus on U.S. History) and a minor in religion. I chose UCLA because it was my dream school. Being a sports fan, its exciting to be in the same campus as very influential, groundbreakers like Kareem Abdul Jabbar and Jackie Robinson who opened doors.  Also, I love all the help that is there for their students. The BRC and SwD program has it all (for everyone). I am a mother, a commuter, a part-time worker and full time student and I could not continue without the help that UCLA provides for my child and I."

Meet one of our New Parenting Student Transfers

Rand Scott Pawling
"I transferred from Norco college this year. I'm a history major, pre-law graduating in 2018. My favorite thing about UCLA is probably the people. It is an absolutely amazing feeling being surrounded by so many humble, brilliant and caring people. Also the history this place has.. the feeling of standing between Powell and Royce.. indescribable."
